Dr. Steven E. Spinks received his Doctorate of Physical therapy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Following graduation, he underwent advanced manual therapy training through the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars and received his Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. He has also undergone continued training in dry needling through the Integrative Dry Needling Institute and BenchMark Rehab Institute. He graduated from orthopedic residency through BenchMark Rehab Institute (BRI) and is currently a Fellow-in-Training in the American Academy of Orthopedics Manual Physical Therapists with BRI. Following certification in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation, he was promoted to adjunct faculty for the American Institute of Balance and specializes in cervicogenic dizziness, authoring two chapters in an upcoming textbook for rehabilitation specialists. He is an Area Director with BenchMark Physical Therapy in Huntsville, Alabama and works with BRI to provide the best evidence-based education to clinicians. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association. He also maintains membership in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) and believes that membership matters for professionals, staying active in his local and professional community while advocating for his patient’s access to the best evidence-based physical therapy.
