Dr. Mark Powers, PT, DPT, OCS, COMT, FAAOMPT is a physical therapist and educator in Savannah, GA. He graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University. After graduating he obtained his OCS certification in 2013 and then completed a manual therapy fellowship program through Nxt Gen Institute of Physical Therapy. Dr. Powers currently works for BenchMark Physical Therapy as a physical therapist/clinic director and is primary faculty for BenchMark Rehab Institute’s orthopaedic manual therapy fellowship program. Mark has previously published a narrative review looking at the role of mirror neurons and observation in rehabilitation and he has presented at regional conferences discussing the role of therapeutic neuroscience education and clinician language in treatment of chronic pain. His clinical interests include treatment of chronic pain conditions and learning more about the role clinician language has in the rehabilitation process.
